个人简介

郑子豪  Zihao Zheng

Zihao Zheng, originally from Wenzhou, China. He received his BFA in China’s most prestigious dance program, Beijing Dance Academy and visited SUNY purchase for one year supported by BDA and Beijing Government. He will receive his MFA in Choreography in 2021 from CalArts under President’s Aspiring Artist Scholarship.

 

​To create imaginative, inclusive choreography sourced from cultural identity, Zihao Zheng places his focus on individual subjectivity in contemporary society and acts on a community level to exchange cultural practices in light of the current political climate. He draws on the shared emotions and values in Chinese and Western cultures and tries to create a dialogue between different points of view through international and genre-crossing collaborations that use new media and cutting-edge technologies.

 

His choreography is based on his deep physical research as a dancer and his investigation of Chi. Chi is regarded as the motivating force that coordinates the cooperation of the physical body and psychological perception. He is most interested in creating a flow of extreme movement that pushes the edge of speed, agility, and complexity. Guided by physical breathe, the energy operation of Chi, which combines imagery, imagination and analysis provides the means to explore the extreme movement possibilities of the human body which fascinate him.

（获得President's Aspiring Artist Scholarship，同时被英国圣三一拉班音乐与舞蹈学院及伦敦当代舞蹈学院研究生录取，并获得高额奖学金）
